a) Savings (ordinary shares)
Shares earned as members deposits: this high risk free facility is currently the most popular savings facility in the Sacco. It has the following features:
- It gives members a high return investment channel. In 2016, the interest paid out was 9%; it is an excellent account for long term savings.Dividend on share capital was paid at 5% .
- You can save as much as you can (Minimum contribution Kshs. 2,000.00). The more you save the more interest you earn.
- One can adjust the monthly savings as and when is necessary.
- Savings are used as collateral for loans.
b) Christmas Package Scheme
The scheme has the following features:
- Membership fees Kshs. 1,000.00
- You can save as much as you can (Minimum contribution Kshs. 1,000.00)
- Total savings contributed for twelve months earn an interest of 4%
c) Education Savings Scheme
The scheme has the following features:
- Membership fees Kshs. 1,000.00
- You can save as much as you can (Minimum contribution Kshs. 1,000.00)
- Total savings contributed for twelve months earn an interest of 4%
d) Benevolent and burial fund
The scheme has the following features:
- No membership fees
- Monthly contribution Kshs. 500.00
Benefits:
- Contributor - Kshs. 60,000.00
- Spouse - Kshs. 50,000.00
- Children - Kshs. 40,000.00
- Parents and In-laws - Kshs. 30,000.00
